Governor Signs Kansas Auto Insurance Bills

TOPEKA, Kan., May 17, 2011 – /PRNewswire/ — Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback gave the OK to two pieces of legislation last week that will leave uninsured drivers with limited recovery rights and will ban cities from charging motorists and their car insurance companies for emergency response to accident scenes.

According to OnlineAutoInsurance.com, the “no pay, no play” legislation to limit uninsured motorists’ recovery rights provides more reason for those without a policy in the state to conduct an auto insurance quotes comparison and get covered as soon as possible.

“No pay, no play” laws are already on the books in a handful of states and are being considered in a number of other state legislatures. These laws basically expand the repercussions for driving without insurance by erasing uninsured motorists’ right to recover non-economic damages. Read more…
