I use a mayo and egg mixture. High fat would be better because of oils but you could add a tablespoon of olive oil. Blend really well, massage into hair, wrap head with plastic wrap, then wrap with heated towel. You can heat the towel in microwave for a minute. Leave on for an hour then wash and condition as usual. For soft shiny hair do this once a week if you over style or process your hair

It worked really well! And yes that will work. Good luck! Be careful though, because it smells REALLY bad. And your hair might smell like mayo for a couple of days if it’s not washed out well.

I did it as a teenager, but I left it on for one hour w/a bag on it closed w/a clothes pin. I washed and rinsed and conditioned and it came out super-soft and shiney. I used high fat mayo. Hope this helps!
